Bahamas

Our return journey back to the US has one final spot the Bahamas. The Bahamas are actually made up of 700 coral based islands. This is the most popular site for Americans to visit as it is closer to Florida. To be more specific we are going to visit the Grand Bahama which has numerous shipwrecks and shallow waters all around it. We are going to deep sea diving to visit some these wrecks. This island was known by the Spanish as the area “gran bajamar meaning” “The Great Shallows”. On this island there is the typical stuff of casinos, food, festivals as well.

Antigua

Antigua is the next spot for us. Antigua is unique for its coast lines that have many protected harbors. The British Admiral Horatio Nelson used these harbors to set up the main station for the Caribbean British Fleet. This was also protected by a nearly unbroken Corral Reef. It gave the British an advantage on the other European countries trying to get a foothold in the Caribbean. These harbors have turned into one of the more premier tourist attractions for this region. The winds that blow there now have a Sailing week.

Dominica

Dominica is rather undeveloped thus it prides itself calling it The Natural Island of Dominica What this means and is good news is that it leaves much of the natural wonders intact for us to visit. It is mainly covered by rainforests and is also volcanic so we use the utmost caution while visiting here. The first spot is going to be the volcanoes and we have to visit the world’s 2nd largest boiling lake in the Morne Trois Piton National Park. This is considered a world heritage site as well as being one of the most amazing geothermal sites you can hope to see in your lifetime. We shall also go on the Rainforest Aerial Tram Dominica where you’ll get a breathtaking view of the rainforest from above riding in the carts.

Cayman Islands

Cayman Islands are the next up on the list for our travels. You’ve probably heard of the islands due to the banking policies but what I’m going to show is another side of this place. We’ll begin by visiting the Cayman Brac which is a parrot sanctuary and home to the endangered Brac Parrot. This is called birding visiting these sites and we shall enjoy the site and sounds of these birds. After all the sounds of the birds it’s time to play a nice quiet game of golf and we are going to play on these 18 holes on the North Sound Club. This place is a must for any golfer going to the Caribbean for a vacation they will always need to schedule for the ultimate relaxation.

Barbados

Barbados though small will leave a great impression on you for life! Follow us through the brief history of colonization by the British when it was nothing but sugar cane plantations. This sugar cane product leads to some of the first rum made in the Caribbean Islands. The oldest which is Mount Gay is the still going with its slogan the rum that invented rum. The Barbados Wildlife preserve is next on our agenda where you’ll see the Green Monkeys and red

footed turtles. With our journey almost complete we will try the foods of Barbados which is known for its use Barbados seasoning or Bajan Seasoning. This blend includes thyme, marjoram, green onions and parsley to name a few along with mixing it up with its own native rums.

Guadeloupe

Next up,Guadeloupe! All aboard as we venture into this island canals you should clean out your ears because you’ll hear the fine music of the natives like “la Biguine”. Be prepared to speak French as well as this was once a French colony. As with most of the other Islands it has natural beauty with the beaches but for redundancy’s sake we’ll steer clear of these beaches. On this island we’ll do something called Canyoning which is repelling from trees to find hidden trails and caves. This is something that is perfectly suited for in the Basse-Terre. This is where we’ll spend our time pretending to be jungle explorers and who knows what we might find!

Dominion Republic

Dominion Republic is the next destination through our journey. The Dominion Republic has the largest amount of beaches in the Caribbean that we as American citizens are allowed to go to. We’ll start though by going to Santo Domingo the capital of this country. It is unique has it holds the oldest street, cathedral, and university of all the Americas. This place was one of the first settled when Europeans started coming to the west. It blends a unique twist of 15th to 16th century architecture with that of the 21st. Just staying in Santo Domingo we find that here are some of the finest beaches of this country.
